Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer. Candidates can be based in either Derby, Warrington, Bolton, Sunderland, Glasgow, or Bristol and will be engaged on a permanent basis.Role Purpose Provide engineering expertise in the design, analysis and verification of electrical systems used across nuclear facilities. The role supports new build, operational plant upgrades and decommissioning projects. The engineer ensures electrical designs are safe, compliant and integrated effectively with control, protection and mechanical systems throughout the lifecycle. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop electrical system designs including single line diagrams, load schedules, cable routing, earthing and bonding arrangements and equipment specifications.Produce design documentation such as electrical calculations, protection schemes, coordination studies, panel designs and installation drawings.Interpret and apply nuclear safety requirements, ensuring electrical systems support reliability, maintainability and defence in depth.Undertake power system studies including load flow, fault level analysis, discrimination and arc flash assessments where required.Select appropriate electrical equipment including LV/MV switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, motors, drives and distribution components suited for nuclear environments.Ensure designs comply with relevant standards such as BS EN 61508, BS 7671, IEC 60364 and nuclear site-specific requirements.Collaborate with ECandI, ..... full job details .....
