We''re looking for a Fixed Asset Accountant for our public sector client based in Chelmsford on an initial 3-month contract paying up to £550 per day Inside IR35 (Umbrella).This role allows hybrid working with an expectation to attend the office 1 day per week.The successful Fixed Asset Accountant will possess proven skills working with the following -Maintaining and managing a Fixed Asset Register including valuation, depreciation, additions and disposalsPreparing capital accounting entries and supporting year-end statutory accountsReconciling Fixed Asset Registers to the general ledger and resolving discrepanciesStrong knowledge of CIPFA Code of Practice and local government capital accountingPreparing audit-ready working papers, reconciliations and supporting schedulesReviewing and challenging external asset valuations for year-end reportingExperience producing capital accounting disclosures and documentationKnowledge of IFRS 16 lease accounting and related journal entriesProviding technical accounting advice to finance and non-finance stakeholdersStrong Excel skills and experience using finance systems and asset registersExperience requiredCCAB qualified accountantStrong local government capital accounting experienceExtensive knowledge of CIPFA Accounting Code and statutory reportingExperience working with property valuers and asset valuationsExperience preparing statutory accounts capital sectionsAbility to work independently and meet strict deadlinesStrong ..... full job details .....
