GSL Education Hull are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Specialist Setting. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, and Social Emotional Mental Health Needs. For this role, there are possibilities to go onto contract after 12 working weeksat the school.
The Role of a SEND Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
- Assist in the delivery of tailored lessons and interventions
- Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development
- Implement and follow individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive classroom environment
- Work closely with teaching staff, SENCO, and external agencies
The Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant Will:
- MUST have previous experience working in a school environment with SEND pupils
- Be patient, resilient, and adaptable
- Demonstrate excellent behaviour management and communication skills
- Be committed to supporting pupils to achieve their full potential
- Hold relevant qualifications (desirable, but not essential)
