Finance Officer
Working closely with the Operations Director & Executive Board the Finance Officer is responsible for supporting the maintenance of financial and administrative services. Ensuring high quality professional, efficient service, including problem solving, managing all kinds of client and supplier needs to their satisfaction and communicating well in all directions, protecting the high reputation of the business.
Finance Officer Responsibilities include:
- Process daily post and emails assisting in the management of the Accounts email account
- Month and year end procedures
- Raise payments (Revolut BACS and card payments) and invoices for monthly support services, monthly subscriptions and projects
- Allocation of payments within Quickbooks
- Credit control and chasing debtors
- Establish, maintain and reconcile supplier and customer accounts
- Raising Purchase orders
- Maintain the fixed asset register
- Coding of supplier invoices and obtaining the necessary approvals
- Prepare monthly journal summaries – including occasional ad hoc journals when adjustments to accounts are required
- Produce Monthly Management Accounts and provide commentary on them
- Maintain financial files and spreadsheet records
- Support the development, production and implementation of Finance process documents
- Monthly credit card reconciliation
- Ensure the safeguarding of all finances via the implementation and adherence of financial policies and procedures
- Perform other related duties as required
- Experience Required
Must have relevant industry experience, including managing other stakeholders. Any industry specific training is welcomed.
Finance Officer Skills and Competencies Required
- Proven experience of working in a Finance Office
- Proven expertise with computerised accounts systems, preferably Quickbooks
- Efficient office administration and providing support to the Operations Manager and Executive team
- HMRC, CIS and Companies House requirements
- Finance related Degree or Qualification
- Good editing, data collection, record keeping with extensive analysis skillset
Nice to Haves
- AAT Level 2 or higher
- Driving License
