We are recruiting a Senior Care Assistant to join a well-established Luxury Retirement Care Home in Southampton. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced care professional to provide high-quality, person-centred care during night shifts, supporting residents in a safe, homely, and welcoming environment.
About the HomeThis Luxury Retirement Care Home provides residential care for adults who may require additional support with daily living, including those living with dementia. The service combines historic charm with modern comfort, offering safe and accessible accommodation for up to 25 residents.
Housed in a 17th Century, Grade II listed former farmhouse, the property has been tastefully extended and adapted to provide light, comfortable, and accessible living spaces. Residents enjoy period features alongside warm, homely decor, with spacious communal areas including a lounge, dining room, and two conservatories.
The home is set within an acre of enclosed, landscaped gardens, providing a peaceful space for relaxation and activities. With 24-hour care and support, the service ensures residents’ needs are met with dignity, respect, and compassion.
Key Responsibilities• Deliver high-quality, person-centred care to all residents during the night shift
• Assist residents with personal care, mobility, and daily routines
• Support residents living with dementia, ensuring safety and comfort
• Administer medication where required (training provided if needed)
• Maintain accurate care records and documentation
• Provide guidance and support to junior staff and new team members
• Ensure a calm, safe, and supportive environment throughout the night
• Previous experience in a care assistant role, preferably in a senior capacity
• NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
• Confident working independently and supporting a team
• Strong communication, organisational, and observational skills
• Compassionate, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality care
• £27,758.64 per annum for 42-hour night shifts
