Salary and hoursSalary £85,000 – £100,000 FTE per annum. This role is being offered on a part-time basis 14-21 hours per week with up to 7 hours per day (FTE 35 hour working week).
About the RoleWe''re seeking a Head of Procurement (Fractional) to join our team and play a critical role in shaping our procurement function. You''ll develop and execute a comprehensive strategy, focusing on achieving significant value for money across all spend categories, especially software and technology. This pivotal role involves leading a function, managing a c£35m budget, and building strong relationships with both suppliers and internal stakeholders. You will have extensive experience in strategic sourcing, a proven track record of delivering cost savings, and be ready to drive operational efficiency and mitigate risk.
Key Responsibilities Include
Develop, implement, and continuously refine a company-wide procurement strategy aligned with organisational goals, values and financial targets.
Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and risk mitigation across all procurement activities.
Design and execute comprehensive supplier identification, qualification, and selection processes, ensuring due diligence and adherence to ethical standards.
Negotiate, draft, and manage complex contracts with suppliers, focusing on optimal terms, service level agreements (SLAs), and risk allocation.
Establish and provide leadership to a robust supplier relationship management (SRM) programme to foster strong partnerships, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement.
About You
Extensive experience in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
Proven track record of delivering significant cost savings and improving procurement processes.
Strong understanding of procurement best practices, legal frameworks.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
