We are currently recruiting for a Permanent Assistant Quantity Surveyor for our client who are based in Chelmsford.As the Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will be working closely with a Quantity Surveyor to support with purchasing and administrative tasks, related to specific projects.As the Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for:Procurement of building materials (from schedules), bracketry and metalwork (from drawings) - tendering, following up to receive quotes on time, analysing quotes, discussing with the QS, tracking against budgets, negotiating with suppliers, drafting and placing purchase orders.Update these packages on the procurement schedule (excel), and track and remind for upcoming releasesFollowing up suppliers to ensure lead times are maintained and delivered onMaintain a materials management schedule (excel) to track materials from point of order through to confirmed arrival on site, including with locations, dates, orders, delivery notes, pallet/stillage refs, photos etcDeal with reactive procurement issues e.g. missing materials, and site requests in coordination with the teamCoordination with project team/s throughout aboveAssisting QS with pricing of variations - obtaining quotes from supplier etc.Assisting QS with monthly application and vesting processesOn site installation records tracking and checkingBudgeting exercises in advance of release of final design, and monitoring budgets as we progress through on site, e.g. plant, building ..... full job details .....
