About the School:

We are partnering with a respected Secondary School in Hemel Hempstead, renowned for offering a comprehensive and well-rounded curriculum in a nurturing, inclusive setting. The school is looking for a passionate and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join the team in September, teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4. Specialisms in History, Geography, or Religious Education (RE) are welcome.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality Humanities lessons that inspire and challenge students

• Teach across KS3 and KS4 (with the potential for KS5, depending on experience)

• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports students’ diverse needs

• Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and help them achieve their targets

• Differentiate lessons to cater to students of varying abilities

• Contribute to the development of the curriculum and department plans

• Prepare students for GCSE exams, including revision sessions and assessments

• Engage in extracurricular activities and contribute to the broader school community

• Maintain effective classroom management and uphold the school’s behavior policies

• Communicate regularly with parents, carers, and colleagues

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent overseas teaching qualification

• A degree in a Humanities-related subject (e.g., History, Geography, Religious Education)

• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching

• Experience teaching Humanities at the secondary level

• Excellent classroom management skills

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare

• An up-to-date Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
