Are you an experienced KS2 Teacher looking for a long-term opportunity within a supportive primary school?

TeacherActive are working with a welcoming Primary School in Smethwick to recruit a dedicated teacher for a maternity cover role starting April 2026 through to October 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who thrives on consistency, building relationships, and making a lasting impact.

• Full class teaching responsibilities within Key Stage 2 (ideally Upper KS2 – Year 5/6)
• Full-time commitment: Monday – Friday (8:00am – 4:00pm)
• Planning, preparation, and assessment (PPA) responsibilities
• Deliver engaging and structured lessons aligned with the curriculum
• Attend staff meetings, CPD sessions, and parents’ evenings
• Monitor and support pupil progress and attainment

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification
• Strong experience within KS2, ideally Year 5 and/or Year 6
• A confident and adaptable teaching style
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• A commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning

• Opportunity to secure a long-term, consistent placement
• Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant

• If not successful, access to other local long-term and supply opportunities

• A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through TeacherActive)
• Ability to provide 2x recent professional references (including at least one from a UK school)
• Proof of Right to Work in the UK
• Proof of relevant teaching qualifications
