An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Officer to join a thriving not for profit setting in North Manchester. As part of a close knit finance team, you will play a key role in supporting the financial management and operations of a busy site, ensuring robust financial control, compliance, and value for money.

Description

  • Financial Management & Control

    • Assist in preparing annual budgets and monitor expenditure across departments

    • Support budget holders with financial planning and reporting

    • Produce cost centre reports and assist in regular budget meetings

    • Monitor creditors/debtors and contribute to process improvements

    Banking & Reporting

    • Complete bank reconciliations, manage BACS runs, and support monthly management accounts

    • Oversee credit cards and ensure timely banking of funds

    Purchasing & Income

    • Ensure prompt and accurate processing of orders and invoices

    • Oversee invoicing for services provided and manage debtor recovery in line with policies

    Payroll & Financial Admin

    • Support monthly payroll reconciliations and liaise with the payroll provider

    • Assist in salary variance analysis and ensure accurate staff records on budget systems

    • Contribute to internal and external audit preparation

    Team Leadership

    • Supervise junior finance staff, support training, and ensure smooth daily operations within the finance office

Profile

A successful Finance Officer should have:

  • Proven experience in accounting or finance roles.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
  • An ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
