Audit Quality Review and Support Team Senior Manager role at
BDO UK .Senior Manager to work within the Quality Review and Support Team (QRST) in the Audit Quality Department (AQD). You will help client-facing specialists in audit/assurance deliver high-quality audits by performing targeted reviews on public interest entities (PIEs), challenging audits throughout the audit cycle, coaching and supporting teams to implement improvements, and contributing to training and guidance on high-quality audits.Responsibilities
Perform in-flight reviews of audits from planning through to completion and reporting, identifying ways to improve audit qualityDetermine focus areas for reviews and agree approach with the QRST DirectorProactively discuss audit quality matters with teams and help develop strategies to deliver high-quality auditsChallenge execution of audit procedures and documentation of audit work performedCoach and support teams to implement identified improvements in audit qualityIdentify issues requiring firm-wide action in conjunction with the Director of QRSTContribute to training and guidance on performing high-quality auditsProvide clear and practical solutions to ad hoc audit quality queriesContribute to wider audit quality initiatives led by the Audit Quality Improvement teamQualifications and Skills
A keen interest in audit qualityExcellent practical and technical auditing experience, particularly on complex auditsGood working knowledge of IFRSAbility and willingness to assertively challenge and influence more senior individuals and peersCreative and innovative thinking to identify ways to improve audit qualityAttention to detailStrong written and oral communication skillsEffective project managementDesirable: Experience of performing audit quality reviews (pre- or post-audit opinion)Desirable: IFRS9 or IFRS17 expertiseAdditional
