About the client:
Our client is a well-established main contractor specialising in delivering high-quality residential and mixed-use developments. With a strong pipeline of projects in the South, they are seeking an experienced Freelance Site Manager with proven timber frame experience to oversee the delivery of a fast-paced housing scheme in Portsmouth. This is a key role where you will be responsible for managing subcontractors, ensuring quality and safety standards, and driving the project to successful completion on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Manage daily site operations, ensuring compliance with health & safety policies
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and direct labour
• Oversee timber frame erection, ensuring build quality and programme deadlines are achieved
• Carry out site inductions, tool box talks, and ensure RAMS are adhered to
• Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, and communication with the Project Manager
• Manage client and stakeholder relationships on site

The ideal candidate will have/be:

• Proven Site Manager experience within residential construction
• Strong track record of managing timber frame projects
• SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid (essential)
• Excellent organisational and leadership skills
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver projects to a high standard
