Electrical Estimator
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 (Depending on Experience)
Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our dynamic team based in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to take the next step in their career, with a clear progression pathway toward a Senior Estimator or Bid Manager role.

You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for low-voltage (LV) electrical projects, supporting our tendering process, and helping to secure new business. This is a key role that will involve close collaboration with engineering, procurement, and commercial teams.

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for LV electrical installations and projects

• Analyse project drawings, specifications, and related documents to assess scope and requirements

• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing

• Contribute to tender submissions, including the preparation of supporting documentation

• Work closely with proposal, design, and project teams to ensure estimates align with technical and commercial objectives

• Monitor tender deadlines and manage submission schedules

• Support post-tender reviews and clarifications with clients

• Identify risks and provide mitigation strategies in estimates

• Maintain a library of rates, cost data, and project records

• Continuously improve estimating processes, tools, and templates

• HNC, HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline

• Solid understanding of LV electrical systems and installation methods

• Proven experience as an Estimator in the electrical contracting or building services industry

• Strong numerical and analytical skills

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

• Familiarity with estimation software and tender platforms (advantageous)

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Organised and self-motivated with a proactive mindset

• Defined career progression towards Senior Estimator or Bid Manager
