Fraser Edwards is recruiting for a Yard Operative/Storeman on behalf of a construction contractor for a permanent role based in Baldock and the surrounding areas.

Duties:

• Organise and maintain yard and storage areas, keeping materials safely and efficiently stored.
• Conduct regular inventory checks and support the reordering process.
• Load and unload materials and equipment from delivery vehicles and site locations.
• Prepare materials in advance for upcoming projects.
• Maintain compliance with all safety procedures and company policies.
• Keep accurate documentation of materials received and issued.
• Work with contract managers and site supervisors to ensure project readiness.
• Carry out general yard maintenance and occasional repairs at various project locations.
• Deliver and collect materials or equipment as required.
• Ensure company property, vehicles, and tools are well maintained.
• Perform general handyman duties including basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and minor electrical repairs across sites.
• Complete all required company training and work to high standards of customer service.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Previous yard/warehouse experience (preferably construction-related).
• General builder or construction trade experience.
• Full clean driving licence is essential.
• Good physical fitness – able to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in various conditions.
• CSCS card holder.
• Basic computer literacy for inventory and record keeping.
• PASMA and IPAF (or willingness to train).
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• A reliable, proactive team player who can also work independently when needed.
