Salary: £26,000 – £34,000 per annum (dependant on experience)

Job Profile
As the successful Mechanical Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling integrated mechanical systems in accordance with technical drawings and standard operating procedures. The role requires a combination of welding, brazing, pipe fitting, and forming skills to ensure high-quality and efficient builds. You will also contribute to new product development and prototype assembly, ensuring the company continues to meet the demands of its customers and expand into new markets.
Duties:
- Assemble integrated systems following detailed drawings and SOPs
- Perform brazing, TIG welding, pipe bending, and pipe fitting to specification
- Assist design and engineering teams with prototype builds and new product development
- Operate hand tools and machinery for assembly processes
- Follow hot works procedures and maintain a clean, organised work area
- Carry out quality checks, testing, and troubleshooting on assembled systems
- Keep accurate records of production and report any issues or discrepancies to supervisors
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve processes and efficiency
- Participate in continuous improvement and 5S activities
- Complete all required documentation accurately
- Support colleagues through training and knowledge sharing where required
- Adhere to company safety protocols and PPE requirements
Skills & Attributes:
- Proven experience in assembly, welding, brazing, and pipe fitting
- TIG welding certification desirable
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and SOPs
- Familiarity with mechanical systems and assembly tooling
- Attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems independently
- Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent industry experience desirable
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Methodical, logical, and able to manage time effectively
- Self-motivated, professional, and resilient under pressure
- Basic IT skills
Education / Certificates:
- Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
- TIG welding certification desirable
Hours of Work:
- 37.5 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:00 or 08:00 – 16:30
- Friday: 07:30 – 13:00 or 08:00 – 13:30
- Overtime available, paid at x1.5hrs and x2hrs Sunday
