Job Title: School Caretaker

Pay Rate: -17 per hour

Hours: Split Shift - 6:30am - 9:00am and 3:00pm - 6:00pm (Monday to Friday)
Contract:Temp to Perm contract

About the Role:
We are looking for a reliable and experienced School Caretaker to join a school in Blackburn. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the school site is safe, clean, secure, and well-maintained. This is a split-shift position, ideal for someone who takes pride in their work and can manage a range of caretaking and maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Open and secure the school premises each day, including setting alarms and ensuring the site is safe.

• Carry out general maintenance and repair tasks, both internally and externally.

• Ensure the school is kept clean, tidy, and well-presented at all times.

• Conduct health & safety checks, reporting and resolving any site issues promptly.

• Liaise with contractors and staff to support the smooth running of the site.

• Assist with setting up rooms, moving furniture, and supporting school events where required.

• Respond to emergencies and site-related issues as they arise.

Requirements:

• Previous caretaking, site management, or maintenance experience is essential.

• Practical skills for carrying out minor repairs and maintenance.

• Good knowledge of health & safety procedures.

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.

• A valid DBS on the update service or willingness to apply.
