Greenhouse Learning is a leading local provider of one-to-one and small group tutoring and mentoring in the Bristol area. We deliver academic tuition in all the main subjects and mentoring support to children of all ages and levels.
We are a small business, managed by a husband-and-wife team, with a Business Support Manager, a Tutoring Support Co-Ordinator and a large roster of tutors and mentors. Our business has grown quickly in the years since the lockdowns, and we're looking for a new team member who shares our values to help us build our business further and play a key role in recruiting, onboarding and matching the appropriate tutor or mentor for each individual student. Role Overview
The Recruitment & Tutor Matching Co-Ordinator plays a vital role in ensuring we have an exceptional team of tutors and mentors, and that each student is paired with the right match for their needs. This role combines finding and onboarding the best-fit tutors and mentors, building strong relationships, staying on top of the documents required for safer recruitment and being highly organised to create a smooth, personalised experience for every client, student and family we work with.
Location
The role is based at our office on Gloucester Road, Bishopston, Bristol.
Key Responsibilities
Tutor Recruitment & Onboarding
- Develop and execute strategies to attract high-quality tutors and mentors across various subjects and age groups.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment: job postings, CV screening, interviews, skills assessments and safer recruitment checks.
- Ensure all tutors and mentors meet our safeguarding and compliance standards.
- Oversee the onboarding process, including training on company values, processes and expectations.
Tutor–Student Matching
- Understand each student’s academic and personal goals, learning style, personality and interests to select the most suitable tutor or mentor.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of tutor and mentor profiles, availability and subject expertise.
- Monitor match success, make any tweaks and reassign tutors if needed for optimal student outcomes.
Relationship & Performance Management
- Act as the main point of contact for tutors regarding assignments, schedules and feedback.
- Collect regular performance feedback from students, parents and tutors to maintain service quality.
- Identify and address any concerns quickly to maintain positive relationships.
Administration & Reporting
- Maintain accurate recruitment and matching records.
- Prepare reports on recruitment metrics, tutor performance and client satisfaction.
- Maintain the company’s Single Central Record to ensure all tutors’ documents are up-to-date and follow up about any updated documents required.
- Support projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Other Responsibilities
- Working as part of a small business, you will be expected to take on a range of different tasks, dependent on the needs of the business.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and strong time management.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Problem-solving mindset with a focus on creating solutions which work for all involved.
- Comfortable using CRM systems, spreadsheets and recruitment platforms.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in recruitment or a similar role (education sector experience preferred).
- Familiarity with tutoring, teaching or mentoring is an advantage.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and safer recruitment procedures desirable.

Further details
This is a part-time role for 3 days a week initially, with some flexibility and the possibility of increasing the hours, and is based at the company’s office in Bishopston, Bristol. This would suit someone looking for term-time only and hours during the school day. Please indicate your availability in your application.
