This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic procurement team in a critical buying role, where your expertise in sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships will directly contribute to the company's continued success.

DUTIES:
- Source products in line with company quality and pricing goals
- Negotiate supplier contracts, pricing, and terms
- Track market trends and seasonal availability to inform purchasing decisions
- Forecast demand using market insights and sales data
- Manage stock levels to avoid shortages or excess inventory
- Work with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure efficient delivery
- Maintain and build strong supplier relationships, including audits and evaluations
- Ensure full compliance with food safety standards
- Align procurement with customer demand by working closely with Sales
- Prepare and manage procurement budgets
- Identify new sourcing opportunities and support seasonal/promotional campaigns
- Resolve supply issues including delays or quality concerns
THE CANDIDATE:
- Experience in buying, procurement, or a similar purchasing role
- Ideally experience within the foodservice and wholesale industry
- Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills
- In-depth understanding of seasonal produce cycles and market dynamics
- Confident using inventory software and Microsoft Office applications
- Organised and detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
- Able to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance standards
- Willingness to travel for supplier visits and trade events
- Existing network within the fresh produce industry is advantageous
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes
