Locum ENT Consultant Surgeon with a specialist interest in Otology

Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Consultant ENT Surgeon with a subspecialty interest in Otology and Balance. This is a 12-month fixed-term post, developed in response to current service needs within our ENT department. While initially offered on a fixed-term basis, there is funding in place and a possibility that the post may progress to a substantive position, subject to future Trust approval.The provisional job plan is equivalent to 10 programmed activities (PAs) and is detailed in the accompanying schedule. This will be subject to review as part of the annual job planning process, to be undertaken within 12 months of appointment. Please view the job description for the full schedule of the provisional job plan.The Trust provides hospital and community health services for Hackney, the City and surrounding communities, delivering a full range of adult, older people’s and children’s services across medical and surgical specialties. The hospital operates acute services from Homerton University Hospital.Responsibilities
Provide high-quality care for patients as a Consultant ENT Surgeon, with a subspecialty interest in Otology and Balance.Participate in the medical audit arrangements and contribute to the teaching and assessment of undergraduates and junior doctors.Contribute to the professional development of trainees and allied health professional colleagues.Take responsibility for administrative duties related to patient care and the running of clinics or departments.Assume responsibility, singly and corporately, for the management of junior medical staff, including approving and monitoring junior staff rotas and locum arrangements where appropriate.Commit to continuing professional development to support successful appraisal and revalidation.Additional Information
