OverviewFixed Term Senior Sustainability Manager

Salary: £57,075 pro-rata

Location: Flexible (with at least 40% of working time on site)

Job Type: Part-time (0.8 FTE), 9-month FTC (maternity leave)

Start date - by mid October at the latest

Reed Talent Solutions are delighted to be working with London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC), to find a Senior Sustainability Manager to join our team for 9 months on a 4 day per week basis to support with Sustainability across Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (QEOP).

This role is crucial for driving their Climate Action Strategy, focusing on sustainable development within the built environment. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in sustainability, particularly related to net zero carbon and 1.5-degree science-based targets, whilst you play a key role in influencing sustainable outcomes across their projects. Also, any experience in Heating Networks would be amazing but not essential.

Responsibilities

Support the Head of Sustainability in implementing the Climate Action Strategy (CAS).

Provide expert advice and input throughout the development pipeline, ensuring alignment with sustainability targets and objectives

Oversee and report on sustainability KPIs, ensuring compliance and progress towards net zero carbon goals.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive the sustainability agenda, including joint venture and development partners.

Lead project feasibility work for decarbonising initiatives, such as the District Heating Network.

Engage in policy discussions and represent the organisation in industry working groups, contributing to broader sustainability discussions and practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Demonstrable experience in sustainability within the built environment.

Strong technical knowledge of net zero carbon strategies and 1.5-degree science-based targets.

Proven ability to manage complex projectsand stakeholder relationships.

Excellent communication skills, capable of discussing complex issues with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Experience in policy, planning, and execution of sustainability strategies.

Proficiency in project management tools and techniques, with a focus on sustainability outcomes.
