The Anglian Water @one Alliance is a collaborative organisation comprising nine partner companies (Anglian Water, SWECO, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska) and an extended supply chain, delivering over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme. The Alliance is gearing up for AMP8, delivering a programme larger than ever before, with a focus on nature-based solutions such as wetlands and urban drainage schemes. We are driving change, empowering our workforce to achieve career progression and flexibility, with an average office or site presence of three days per week.The Role
As the Head of Commercial, you’ll lead the commercial function for a designated Business Unit with a portfolio of projects valued between £600m and £750m over five years. You’ll report to the Delivery or Commercial Director and manage all aspects of the commercial activity, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives while fostering collaboration, innovation and value-driven outcomes.Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute commercial strategies that enhance performance and align with our outperformance targets.Performance Management: Oversee the commercial performance of the Business Unit, ensuring cost assurance, KPI reporting and governance.Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to deliver seamless integration across the supply chain.Procurement and Supply Chain Management: Drive procurement innovation and ensure supply chain performance aligns with programme goals.Team Leadership and Development: Lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, care, and continuous improvement.Health, Safety and Wellbeing: Champion a culture of health, safety and wellbeing across the team and supply chain.What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring:A degree-level education with significant experience in a senior leadership role.Proven expertise in project and programme delivery within construction or utilities.A strong commercial acumen with experience in contract management, procurement and estimating.Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills.A track record of leading successful teams and delivering business objectives at a strategic level.The ability to drive innovation, improve processes, and deliver exceptional results.Why Join Us
