Year 5 Teacher Independent School - Balham 1 Year Contract (with Potential to Go Permanent) September 2026 Start We are working with a small, highly regarded independent school in Balham to recruit a talented and committed Year 5 Teacher for a September 2026 start. This is a one-year position, with the option of a permanent contract for the right candidate. This is a unique opportunity to teach a very small class of just 7 pupils, including one child with an EHCP supported by a dedicated 1:1. The school has a strong academic focus, and parents hold high expectations for pupil progress and attainment. Key Responsibilities: • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons for a Year 5 class • Prepare pupils for 11+ and Year 7 entrance exams • Differentiate effectively to meet individual learning needs, including EHCP support • Foster a positive and ambitious learning environment • Contribute to the wider school community The Ideal Candidate: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) • Experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2 • Strong understanding of 11+ / selective entrance exam preparation • Interest or strength in Computing and/or English • Ability to maintain high academic standards and expectations • A proactive and flexible approach within a small school setting School Details: • Independent school with small class sizes (Year 5 currently 7 pupils) • Located on Balham High Road • Working hours: 8:00am-5:00pm or 8:30am-5:30pm (no expectation to work outside these hours) • ..... full job details .....
