This is a newly created opportunity for a progressive finance professional to sit within the Financial Control function and collaborate/partner with the portfolio investment teams for statutory and management reporting purposes. You would be the subject matter expert providing support and challenge to both investment and finance teams from an external reporting perspective, working with teams in London, Singapore and Africa. This would be an ideal first step within the organisation with progression to either Financial Control or Investment projects teams. As such, there would be some international travel.Role and Responsibilities:Operate as a technical expert regarding investment valuations to the Heads of the respective portfolios and project managers.Assist the Portfolio Finance teams in the development and furthering of in-house financial models for valuation purposes.Provide robust scrutiny and professional skepticism of financial models and valuation techniques adopted by Portfolio Finance and investment teams.Act as point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors regarding investment valuationsCollate, review, scrutinise, and report on portfolio valuation results to senior finance personnel, Heads of investment portfolios, and the Chief Investment and Project Development Officer (CIPDO).The ability to combine technical adherence whilst adopting a commercial approach.Assist the Head of Projects and Investment Finance and Global Financial Controller in the presentation of portfolio valuation and supporting narrative to the Valuations Committee.Assist the Strategy and Portfolio Management team and FPandA team with valuation forecasts as part of the regular financial reporting and the annual business plan.Prepare year-end disclosures regarding investments held for the statutory accounts of investment entities prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).Collaborate with Portfolio Finance, Legal, and Investment teams to prepare internal memos and supporting documentation to support valuation approach disclosures adopted for statutory reporting.Requirements:Desire to work in a growth organisation where the culture is extremely positive.Educated to degree level.Hold a relevant professional qualification, such as a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA) or chartered financial analyst (CFA).Strong valuation skills and working knowledge of IPEV guidelines.Technical knowledge of reporting requirements under IFRS 10 in relation to investment entities.Comfortable with presenting to Boards and external key stakeholders.Exceptional report writing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Experience in a valuations-focused role for a Top 10 accounting, venture capital, or private equity firm.Ideally, experience in valuation of early-stage investments in the infrastructure sectorExposure to investments within Sub-Saharan Africa and/or South-East Asia regions would be beneficial.Our client is an equal opportunities employer and values the diversity of all its employees, associates, owners, service providers and customersSeniority level
