TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in Sale, supporting with their recruitment for a SEND Teaching Assistant. This setting provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for children and young people with a range of additional needs, placing a strong focus on developing independence, communication, and emotional wellbeing. The school promotes a child-centred and therapeutic approach, ensuring every student is supported both academically and personally.

The school is looking to take on a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will be working closely with students across various age groups who are diagnosed with Autism / ASD and complex learning needs. The role will involve supporting students within the classroom, assisting with emotional regulation, encouraging engagement with learning activities, and helping to create a safe and positive learning environment.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will have:

Experience working with children or young people with Autism / ASD and complex needs

Previous experience within a SEND school or similar setting

A calm, patient and nurturing approach

Strong communication and behaviour management skills

The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff

A proactive and adaptable attitude
