In this role, you will develop quality software across a range of projects, operating systems, and development environments, and provide support, leadership, and guidance to the wider team to meet customer needs and high standards.Primary Purpose of the Role:As Senior Software Engineers, you will design, code, test, configure, and support fully integrated software solutionsWork closely with Systems Engineers, Software Engineers, and ArchitectsContribute to scrum teams and attend project reviewsSupport, encourage, and share knowledge with other team membersPrincipal Relationships:Project SW Engineering Managers/Team LeadsProject SW ArchitectsProject Systems EngineersKey Responsibilities and Tasks:Design, code, test, configure, and support fully integrated software solutionsCollaborate with Systems Engineers, Software Engineers, and ArchitectsContribute to scrum teams and attend project reviewsSupport, encourage, and share knowledge with other team membersKey Performance Indicators:Pro-active ownership of allocated tasksDelivering on time and within budgetUnderstanding and adhering to design decisionsWorking with Technical Leads to ensure work is designed to costAdopting agreed business processesSkills and Experience:Essential:Significant Java development experience with strong design principlesPrevious experience in senior roles within software development teamsProven ability to deliver successful softwareDeep understanding of configuration management, change control, and continuous integration tools like JenkinsPassion for producing clean codeDesirable:Experience with Spring, Camel, JPA, Sencha, JavaScript, ReactWeb services design and developmentFamiliarity with Agile methodologies (e.g., SCRUM)Luciad or ESRI experienceKnowledge of continuous integration and automated test toolsHCI/Ux designMilitary software development experienceExperience with relational databases and SQLAbility to undertake senior roles beyond software development, such as Software Architect or Software Engineering ManagerValues and Behaviours:Focus on CustomersPerform through teamingInnovateDevelop our peopleQualifications:Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline (e.g., Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics)Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.Why Thales?
