We''re working on behalf of a leading, independently owned renewable energy developer with an impressive track record in delivering successful wind and solar projects across the UK and Europe. Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join their experienced team in Leeds.
The Company
Our client has delivered over 1GW of renewable energy capacity across more than 120 sites in Europe. In the UK, they operate from multiple offices and have developed a robust pipeline of wind energy projects at various stages of the planning and development process (c. 2GW).
With full in-house capabilities across site selection, planning, grid, construction, and asset management, they provide an end-to-end development model backed by over three decades of experience in the sector.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Planning, this is a pivotal role in the delivery of onshore wind farms, managing projects from feasibility through to planning submission and appeal.
You will work with landowners, consultants, local authorities, and other stakeholders to secure planning permission and drive projects forward in a commercially viable and environmentally responsible manner.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing the design, development and planning application process for wind farm projects
Coordinating environmental impact assessments and appeals
Engaging with landowners, local authorities, and stakeholders
Negotiating third-party agreements
Managing project timelines, consultants, and budgets
Overseeing grid connection strategies and processes
This role requires a combination of technical understanding, commercial awareness, and strong communication skills to manage projects in complex planning environments.
About You
We''re looking for a proactive and experienced project professional who brings:
A strong background in renewable energy, planning, or infrastructure project management
A good understanding of UK planning regulations and EIA processes
Confidence in liaising with stakeholders and presenting at public events
Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel within the UK (occasional international travel may also be required)
