Business Manager - DDaT specialist supporting public sector organisations with their permanent recruitment needsAllen Lane are delighted to be partnering with the London Borough of Newham to find an exceptional Modern Workplace Lead to join their growing Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) directorate. This is a critical leadership role, overseeing the development and delivery of modern workplace services that empower staff with the tools, platforms and digital ways of working that enable a truly connected and collaborative organisation. Please note that this role will require up to 2 days per week on site.
Lead the strategic direction and delivery of the Council’s modern workplace services, spanning devices, connectivity, productivity tools and collaboration platforms.
Drive innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring services are user-centred, accessible and secure.
Oversee a high-performing multi-disciplinary team and manage substantial budgets across the modern workplace portfolio.
Shape and implement strategy aligned with Newham’s wider digital transformation goals.
Champion cultural and behavioural change, embedding digital ways of working across the organisation.
Build and manage relationships with key technology vendors and service partners.
As a Modern Workplace Lead you will have
Extensive experience in leading modern workplace functions within large, complex organisations.
A deep understanding of digital transformation and its impact on service delivery.
Strong working knowledge of Endpoint management tools such as Intune along with productivity and collaboration tools
Strategic thinking and the ability to drive innovation across people, processes and technology.
Proven experience in managing budgets, leading teams, and delivering enterprise-scale technology change.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence at senior levels.
Strong knowledge of service management, security compliance, and IT governance.
