Job Description:A popular and high-volume Italian coffee shop and pasticceria located in the Cayman Islands is seeking a skilled and creative Head Pastry Chef to lead its bakery operations. This role is ideal for a professional pastry chef with strong leadership skills, a deep knowledge of traditional and modern Italian pastries, and the ability to manage production in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for pastry production, menu development, team training, and ensuring product excellence and consistency.
Key Responsibilities:Lead daily operations of the pastry and bakery sectionCreate and maintain a wide range of Italian pastries, desserts, and baked goodsDevelop seasonal and innovative pastry menus while respecting Italian traditionManage production schedules and ensure consistent product qualityMonitor stock, order supplies, and manage inventory and cost controlEnsure food safety and sanitation standards are strictly followedRecruit, train, and manage pastry team members
Candidate Requirements:Minimum 5 years experience as a Head Pastry Chef or Senior Pastry Chef in a high-volume settingExpertise in Italian pastry and dessert preparation (including Laminated dough, Panettone and Colomba Production)Strong understanding of both traditional and contemporary baking techniquesExperience managing production in a fast-paced café, bakery, or pastry kitchenExcellent leadership and organizational skillsCulinary or pastry diploma/certification preferredWillingness to relocate to the Cayman Islands.
