About the Role:

We are working with a vibrant and inclusive school in Winslow seeking a SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their pastoral support team. This role is ideal for someone with a nurturing personality and experience (or interest) in working with children who struggle with emotional regulation, anxiety, and behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide support to students with SEMH on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Help implement targeted interventions and behaviour support plans
• Work closely with classroom staff to adapt learning to suit individual needs
• Support students in building social skills, emotional awareness, and resilience
• Help children manage anxiety, transitions, and emotional triggers
• Liaise with families and other professionals to provide holistic support

Requirements:

• Experience supporting SEMH or SEN students in any setting (school, youth work, care, etc.)
• Ability to remain calm in challenging situations
• Passion for inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners
• DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
• Any relevant training (e.g. attachment, trauma-informed approaches) is a bonus
