The Royal Academy of Music is one of the world''s leading conservatoires. We are appointing a new Head of Brass for September 2026 to succeed Professor Mark David. The successful applicant will have the vision and ability to develop the outstanding educational and artistic successes of the department. You will be a performer of outstanding calibre, and a proven teacher and trainer of brass players at the highest level as well as an experienced and demanding ensemble director and coach. You will be a leader with fresh artistic vision, able to help students find their own voice and journey, broadening horizons beyond existing professional contexts, and encouraging collaboration and curiosity as part of the evolving musical landscape. You will have the ability to manage a cohesive and purposeful team of distinguished musicians and teachers and to instil an ethos of mutual support and ambition throughout the department.
