About the Role:
- Plan and deliver dynamic lessons aligned with the KS3 and KS4 Science curriculum, covering Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
- Promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and a spirit of scientific enquiry through hands-on experiments and engaging theory
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment where all students feel valued, motivated, and able to thrive
- Use a variety of formative and summative assessment methods to track student progress and guide future teaching
- Build strong, positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to support academic achievement and personal growth
- Play an active role in the wider school community by contributing to science fairs, interdisciplinary projects, and enrichment programmes
The ideal candidate will:
- Ideally have experience teaching Science at secondary level (though not essential for the right candidate)
- Be a reflective, flexible practitioner with effective classroom management and the ability to differentiate for diverse learning needs
- Show a strong commitment to inclusive education, safeguarding practices, and the overall wellbeing of students
- Possess excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for ongoing professional development, collaborative working, and innovation in science education
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, an enhanced DBS check
