A Senior Engagement Manager is an experienced people manager and project leader with day-to-day oversight of multiple client projects. Expectations include the ability to build relationships (internally and externally), identify client needs, design strategic and innovative solutions, and deliver client contracts on time and on budget. As a member of the management team, a Senior Engagement Manager is responsible for ensuring a superior client experience while developing the skills and supervising the work of consulting staff team members. This professional exhibits decision quality, action orientation, communication savvy, and resourcefulness as the primary steward of consulting projects.Responsibilities
Build positive working relationships with clients, consulting staff, managers, leadership, and internal support teams.Achieve billable utilization and managed book of business targets in service to client engagements.Proactively grow a book of business by building strong relationships with clients and Advisory Group leadership, and secure follow-on opportunities.Participate in the business development process through writing and pricing full proposals and actively participating in pitches and negotiations.Support and provide subject matter expertise to proposal development, including pricing, staffing, and proposal decks. Contribute to the selling process by conducting background research and identifying key business questions for proposals and pitches.Manage heavy workloads and multiple projects simultaneously.Delivery
Collaborate with project leadership to design, manage, and execute all aspects of a client engagement aligned with business goals, products, and expectations.Plan and align resources to ensure successful delivery of client contracts.Optimize work processes to maintain scope, budget, timelines, and resource allocations.Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for client deliverables and contract management; establish a trusted advisor relationship with the client.Develop business strategy through primary and secondary research, documentation, and presenting findings.Identify and evaluate relevant secondary research sources and synthesize findings into recommendations.Lead consulting staff in developing discussion guides and conducting interviews with healthcare stakeholders; synthesize primary data into strategic recommendations.Oversee project deliverables from conception to completion, ensuring quality and timeliness.Develop high-quality PowerPoint slides and storyboards for client presentations.Anticipate and support client needs through strategic recommendations and contingency plans.Communicate regularly with clients and internal teams; flag risks or delays and propose solutions.Mentor junior staff and integrate their contributions into deliverables.Gain experience across project types, therapeutic areas, and consulting services.Community
