Accounts Assistant / Credit Controller
Tennial Personnel is recruiting an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant / Credit Controller on behalf of our client, a facilities management company based in Ipswich.This is a temporary to permanent position following a successful 12-week period, offering a hybrid working pattern of 1 day in the office (Wednesdays) and 4 days working from home. The role is full-time, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 4:30pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the successful candidate will take ownership of the end-to-end sales ledger and credit control function across multiple business entities, ensuring accurate invoicing, timely collections, and effective account management.Key Responsibilities:Manage the full accounts receivable and credit control function across multiple entitiesRaise sales invoices accurately and in a timely mannerSet up new customer accounts and conduct credit checks in line with company policyMonitor customer credit limits and take action where accounts exceed agreed termsReconcile customer accounts, allocate payments, and resolve discrepanciesProactively chase outstanding debts and manage the collections processMaintain aged debtor reports and escalate overdue accounts where requiredSupport month-end processes and assist with financial reportingExtract, analyse, and manipulate data using ExcelCollaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely billingProvide excellent customer service when handling account queriesSupport audits by preparing documentation and responding to queriesAssist in developing and improving finance processesManage shared finance inboxes and respond to enquiries efficientlySkills RequiredProven experience in a Credit Control or Accounts Assistant roleStrong knowledge of sales ledger processes, credit control, and reconciliationsExperience using financial systemsAdvanced Excel skills, including handling large volumes of dataExcellent communication and negotiation skillsStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to work to deadlines and manage workload effectivelyExperience in a multi-entity or multi-site environment (advantageous)Qualifications RequiredGCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (essential)Accounting qualification or certification (desirable)KeywordsAccounts Credit Controller
