HMP Gartree is a category B prison based in Market Harborough, housing around 650 patients. You will be working closely with the multi-disciplinary team, including GPs and ACPs, to deliver psychiatric support to adult males mainly aged 28-50, most of whom have complex mental health and historic trauma needs.Hours

20 hours per week across 2.5 days. Rolling rota options are available (2 days one week, 3 the next) with flexibility on which days are worked (Monday to Friday). A full-time role is also available if working across HMP Stocken and HMP Gartree or HMP Five Wells.Salary

20 hours per week; annual salary up to £180,000 per annum FTE depending on experience.How will we support you?

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, your responsibilities will vary. You will:Provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the case load onsiteActively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervisionWork within the multi-disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi-professional complex case reviewsCareer development

Registered professional with current GMC registrationSpecialist Registration in General Adult or Forensic PsychiatryApproved under section 12(2) of the MHS 1983Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency workingUp-to-date knowledge in adult psychiatry and PDAwareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislationAdditional information
