I''m working with a leading consultancy that is looking to strengthen its Building Services team in London with the appointment of a Senior Electrical Design Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile projects, lead multidisciplinary design teams, and take a hands-on role in shaping the future of sustainable building services delivery.

The Opportunity:

As a Senior Engineer, you''ll be responsible for leading electrical design on a range of projects while working in joint leadership across MEP teams. You''ll act as a key point of contact for clients, ensuring technical excellence and smooth project delivery.
Key responsibilities include:

* Leading electrical design packages from feasibility through to detailed design and delivery.
* Supervising and mentoring junior engineers, ensuring high-quality output.
* Providing design and technical advice across multidisciplinary teams.
* Reviewing design programmes and resource allocation to meet deadlines.
* Producing and overseeing detailed performance specifications.
* Representing the business in client meetings, interpreting and delivering on project needs.
* Contributing to business growth by playing a role in winning new commissions.

What My Client is Looking For:

* Proven track record delivering building services projects within an electrical discipline.
* Experience leading both electrical packages and overall project teams.
* Degree in Building Services Engineering (or relevant discipline) and working towards Chartership (IET/CEng) - or equivalent experience.
* Strong knowledge of UK regulations and the ability to demonstrate compliance through calculations.
* Proficiency with electrical design software and working knowledge of RevitMEP or other 3D design platforms.
* Ability to communicate technical detail effectively, both verbally and graphically.
* A collaborative mindset with excellent client-facing skills.

Technical Expertise (Electrical Design):

* Low voltage distribution systems, standby generation & UPS.
* Lighting design and calculations (software and hand).
* Cable calculations (software and hand).
* Small power and data cabling.
* Fire alarms, security, and access control systems.
* Lightning protection, disabled call systems, and other specialist installations.
