Technical Production Manager needed for a leading production company that has been a key player in Formula 1, supporting elite teams and event organisers.

Their work spans from enhancing fan experiences in hospitality suites and paddock areas to technical installations in garages and team facilities. With 24 major events a year, the company delivers innovative, cutting-edge AV solutions through strong collaboration with suppliers and a drive for continuous innovation.

Beyond motorsport, the company provides AV production services across a range of live events, including festivals, concerts, conferences, theatre, and dance. They regularly work with prestigious London venues, supplying equipment, technical support, and skilled crew for high-profile performances and productions.

Job Description:

The Technical Production Manager will work closely with project management, operations, finance, and clients to deliver complex and high-impact events. This includes analysing venue specifications and requirements to design optimal AV setups, and producing detailed production plans, including kit specifications, staffing, and schedules.

The role requires a collaborative approach to budget creation and delivery, encompassing equipment, crew, and any rechargeables. The Production Manager is also responsible for generating planning documentation to forecast potential issues and communicating these effectively with clients, offering solutions that minimise cost and disruption.

The successful candidate will lead a team of technicians and production crew, offering clear guidance and support while encouraging ownership and accountability. Task delegation and efficient time management are key to delivering successful builds and seamless event delivery.

Responsibilities:

  •  Plan and deliver world-class live events in high-profile environments, including work alongside internationally renowned talent.
  •  Produce detailed production schedules, equipment lists, and team briefings.
  •  Write post-event debriefs with clear recommendations and actionable insights.
  •  Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while identifying opportunities for new partnerships.
  •  Create, manage, and reconcile budgets, including tracking of additional or unforeseen costs.
  •  Communicate effectively with internal teams both on-site and remotely.

Requirements:

  •  Minimum 5 years’ experience in live events or technical production, including leadership or management roles.
  •  Expertise in at least one core discipline (lighting, sound, or AV), with a broad understanding of technical requirements across all areas.
  •  Confident, adaptable, and able to thrive under pressure in fast-paced environments.
