Coming from a family of publicans and having yielded a lifetime career changing the way we cook, Jamie has worked to showcase the best of British produce and dishes that are considered yet accessible.WHAT YOURE HERE TO DOUphold and represent the ethos of Jamie Oliver where food quality is world class and is delivered to this standard consistently, without compromiseWork with the team to create and maintain a working environment in which the culture is positive and the highest food standards are achieved, exceeding both guest and staff expectationsDemonstrate, execute and train in the highest standards and understanding of food safety, ensuring our kitchens maintain legal requirements in this areaAssume responsibility for the smooth running of the kitchen and the implementation of standards and profitability in the Head Chef''s absenceDeliver, monitor and encourage the consistent and structured training of all new staff and their ongoing training and developmentEnsure the kitchen is fully food safety compliant by the use of systems, policy, procedures and due diligence transparency.Conduct regular audits to govern the level of brand standard complianceWHAT A KITCHEN MANAGER NEEDS TO KNOWDemonstrate ideal standards by ensuring the kitchen setup, running and closedown consistently meets the required high standards set by the companyEnsure pre-shift team meetings are attended by staff on every shift and that staff are motivated and clear on shift requirements/responsibilities, as a resultTake ownership of the day to day running of our central kitchen to ensure brand standards are met with food safety compliance, food quality and staff training and development.Take ownership of and ensure all kitchen staff are trained according to our "Grass Roots training programme, developed and encouraged according to their needs and potential and in line with the Jamie Oliver Restaurant groups values.Support and implement objectives and development plans set by the Head Chef for line chefs in order to continue people development and increase staff retention.Oversee all BOH trial shifts to the company standard.Maintain staffing levels, keeping them in line with business trends whilst maintaining the highest standards of performance and quality in the Head Chef''s absence.Have a full understanding of all brand standards and communicate these at every opportunity; at daily pre-shift meetings and regular departmental/staff meetingsBe accessible for communication from kitchen staff at all levels, welcoming and encouraging their ideas and contributionEnsure all kitchen staff are trained to the required level of competence in food hygiene, COSHH, HACCP and allergensEnsure that the training of all new staff results in their full understanding of their duties and responsibilities in the area of food safetyWorking with the Head Chef, ensuring that the kitchen and the brigade, including KPs, are aware of and living by standards which meet health and safety requirements.WHAT WE OFFER IN RETURNGenerous and competitive benefits package including:Access to Bupa Cash Plan and membership to the CODE hospitality appFree, delicious and nutritious meals on shiftGenerous family packageDiscount on meals in Catherine Street for you and your familyOpportunity to join a company that will invest heavily in its people and their careersLots of internal and external training and development opportunitiesRegular team socialising eventsAnd many more details to follow!At Jamie Oliver, we celebrate the fact that everyone is different and treat every colleague with dignity and respect.As a creative business we know that diverse teams help us deliver our best work.
