Social Worker -Duty and LAC Team- Southampton
Southampton City Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Social Worker to join our Duty and Looked After Children / Children in Care (LAC/CIC) Team. This role focuses on supporting children and young people who are in care, ensuring they experience stability, safety, and the best possible outcomes. Pay rate - 39ph. 37 hours per week 3 month minimum contract with options to extend. Flexible, hybrid working arrangements. There is also an expectation to be in the office around 2 - 3 days a week and be available to support duty social workers. Court paperwork, legal documents and single assessments including SGO reports. Duty social worker to support placement instability and breakdowns. There will be an expectation during duty that the social worker is able to work flexibly as some of the demands of the service is supporting children who live out of area and also when placements breakdown this is support beyond 5pm on occasion.This is an additional post that has been agreed to drive through applications to discharge care orders and support placement stability. Key Responsibilities Manage a caseload of children and young people in care Complete statutory visits, assessments, and care planning Support care planning, permanency planning, and pathway planning Prepare high-quality reports for reviews and meetings Ensure the voice of the child is central to all decision-making You will be Social Work England registered, ideally a driver with access to own car ..... full job details .....
