Youth support worker

Are you an experienced youth support worker looking for a new role in education? Or are you seeking a role supporting children who have social, emotional and mental health needs? Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a youth support worker to join this supportive alternative school in London. This is a full time, long-term role starting in September 2025 for the full academic year and upon review there will be an opportunity to go permanent.The School:The school supports students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs who have been permanently excluded, allocated a place through SEN consultation or via the Securing Education Board on a short-term placement. A high number of pupils here also have an additional diagnosis of autism and/or ADHD. Class sizes are therefore smaller with up to six pupils per class and there is a high staff-to-pupil ratio so that children are given the correct support when needed across the school day. As a youth support mentor you will be responsible for the below:Managing behaviour and following the schools behaviour policySupporting students in class, small groups and on a 1:1 basisEncouraging and promoting student engagement in learning activitiesContributing to support plans and strategies to meet the needs of each studentCollaborating with staff, parents/carers, and outside agenciesMonitoring and recording student progress and achievementsTo join us and be successful in this role you will need:Previous experience working with ..... full job details .....
