The role-holder will support the work of the Hong Kong History Centre by providing high-quality digital images of archival material held in the Hong Kong collections. You will work closely with the Project Archivists, Senior Digitisation Officer and Digital Archive Assistant on workflow to integrate these images into our Digital Asset Management Systems, archival management system and web pages. Supporting the wider team to ensure the archives can be made available for research, education and wider engagement activities.You will be based in Special Collections (Library Services) and will work closely with the Special Collections team as well as the Hong Kong History Centre, which is a research centre encouraging and facilitating the study of the history of Hong Kong and its peoples, and outreach, engagement and international exchange and collaboration in the field.This is a part-time position working 21 hours per week.What will you be doing?
You will capture images of archival materials using camera or scanners appropriate to the material being copied, and process the files in image-handling softwareRecord metadata and collaborate with colleagues on enhanced metadata provisionYou will use creative and technical judgment to optimise images for a variety of usesWork alongside the Senior Digitisation Officer and other colleagues to develop your skills
