Software Engineering Manager£80k and £90k + bonus and benefits.Manchester city centre (3 days a week WFH + flexible start times: 7am -10am)Lead a cross-functional team of local and remote Software Developers and Test Engineers delivering high quality software for a multi-million pound, microservices platform, built with modern technologies.JOB PURPOSEYou will be guiding and motivating your team to hit aligned objectives, while focusing on high quality software that gives a first-class user experience. This will span the entire lifecycle of the software, from design and coding to deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.JOB DUTIESLead and manage a high performing agile team of Software Developers and QA.Provide guidance, support, and career development for team members, helping them grow their skills and advance in their careers.Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and provide feedback to help team members improve and succeed.Recruit new team members and ensure a smooth onboarding processTake accountability for the planning, delivering team''s backlog and the overall SDLCPartner with a Product Manager to balance new product development, operational excellence and defects.Embed a team first mindset ensuring individuals focus on working together, sharing knowledge, and support one another ensuring a sustainable pace of delivery.Demonstrate continues improvement through metrics and story tellingTake ownership of the technical direction of the team working with the ArchitectsEnsure that the engineering efforts are aligned with the companyParticipate in or facilitate code reviews and design discussions to maintain high standards of quality and consistency.REQUIREMENTSMetrics driven approach to deliveryExperience of leading agile teams, managing and coaching team members.Demonstrable understanding of modern software engineering and quality assurance best practice.Experience mentoring and coaching team members.On offer:Hybrid remote working (2 days a week in Manchester office)Annual bonus, Pension, Death in service, Employee discounts, saving schemeEnhanced Maternity and Paternity payRole is only open to individuals with the right to work in the UK who will commute into Manchester on a weekly basis.
