LYPFT are committed to providing integrated, recovery focused services that promote the independence and well-being of service users, their families and carers.An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Acute Inpatient Mental Health Service, for an experienced and motived Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic an innovative Occupational Therapy and wider Multi- Disciplinary Team. The post will be based on Ward 3 at Becklin Centre, which is a working age Male Acute Inpatient Ward. The post is advertised for 37.5 hours per week, with a rolling 7 day shift pattern. This offers flexibility to successful applicants in their working schedule. The Becklin Centre has a wealth of resources, including a purpose built Therapy Suite to support the work of the Occupational Therapy Team.Main duties of the job
The service offers assessment and treatment to those experiencing a variety of complex needs, presentations and challenging behaviours in relation to their mental health. The post holder will work within the multi-disciplinary team to provide assessment, treatment and support discharge planning. LYPFT utilises the Model of Human Occupation framework to inform the overall assessment and the collaborative development of recovery plans for those within the service. Effective MDT Clinical Leadership drives the service and aspires to equip clinicians with a versatile and comprehensive skillset in order to provide compassionate, therapeutic care. The role of occupation is recognised and valued on the ward. The assessments and interventions provided by Occupational Therapists are an important part of this therapeutic offer, provided both individually and in groups. You will bring your knowledge, skills and experience to effectively plan and support effective transfers to the community. To contribute to the overall provision of occupational therapy and work as an integrated member of the clinical team, participating in all aspects of day to day service provision.To work within a clear Occupational Therapy pathway facilitating screening assessment, needs analysis/prioritisation, treatment planning and facilitating interventions.To be responsible and accountable for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment for defined Service Users.To maintain clear links with your profession’s structures and your profession’s lead within the Trust. Support the profession’s development and modernisation and the adherence to your profession’s standards and codes of practice.To work as an integrated member of the clinical team, participating in all aspects of day to day service provision.Participates in assessments of care, which lead to the development of detailed and relevant care plans, to enhance/maintain the quality of life and independence of service users.Effectively and efficiently manages own daily caseload and engages in caseload supervision with a senior practitioner.Utilizes effective systems for assessing, managing and minimizing clinical risk.To maintain clear links with your profession’s structures and your profession’s lead within the Trust.
