HGV & Trailer Mechanic / Technician

Location: Southampton
Rate: £18+ per hour (DOE)
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7am–4pm (40 hours per week)
Overtime: Paid at time and a half
Holiday: 20 days per year + pension

A well-established commercial vehicle workshop in Southampton is currently recruiting two experienced HGV Mechanics / Fitters to join their busy and professional team.

The Role

This is a workshop-based position working primarily on HGVs, with occasional LCV work. Responsibilities include:

• Safety inspections and routine servicing

• MOT preparation

• Brake testing

• Welding and fabrication

• General mechanical repairs and fault finding

Requirements

• Proven experience as an HGV Technician / Mechanic / Fitter

• Experience with rigid and articulated vehicles and trailers

• HGV Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)

• Clean UK driving licence

• Flexible and reliable approach to work

Desirable (but not essential)

• HGV Class 1 licence

• Driver CPC
