Team Leader - River Thames Navigations - 31554OverviewWe have an exciting opportunity for someone to lead a team contributing to the management of recreational activities on the River Thames. The team provides a front facing service to customers, regulates river levels through weir operation and carries out enforcement of boat registration. You and your team will also be supporting wider objectives such as asset management. We are in a period of change to make our operations financially sustainable so a key part of this role will be to bring your team along for that journey of seeking efficiency and better ways of delivering work. The ideal person will have a diverse range of experience particularly within leading through change and skills in managing stakeholder and customer expectations. Leading a team of technical and operational staff

Providing well researched correspondence based on sound technical knowledge, experience and legal advice

Contact and additional informationYou will be required to be mobile and work at various locations other than your base office. We support hybrid working (office, site and home) but the job requires regular site visits and front-line presence. Out of hours work is occasionally required to manage incidents. As the work takes beside the river or out on boats, you should be a confident swimmer. Training will be given to achieve the mandatory requirements of the post alongside ongoing development.
TeamThe Environment Agency has a responsibility to manage some of the busiest recreational waterways in the country. Our River Thames operations include 45 lock and weir complexes. Your team will consist of a total of 12 staff including Lock and Weir Keepers and Technical staff reporting directly to you.
