This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sexual health nurse to further develop leadership, management and clinical skills at the Mortimer Market Centre for 12 months covering maternity leave. We would require for this person to commence post from October 2025.Mortimer Market Centre is a large Integrated Sexual Health service in Camden, providing care to a diverse group of patients.The post holder, with the other Charge Nurse, will lead and line manage a team of nurses and healthcare support workers. They will work with the Service Manager, Clinical Team Lead and the MDT to ensure we provide high-quality, cost-effective care.We are committed to continually improving access to sexual health and contraceptive care.Main duties of the job

Manage and lead the nursing team and healthcare support workers (HCSWs) within the clinic, ensuring the team receive support and developmentAct as a role model, assessor and mentor for the nursing team, inspiring staff and students with their vision and valuesFacilitate the development of policy, guidelines, care pathways and patient group directionsProvide high quality, specialist Sexual Health care that is based on clear, clinical evidence, as part of the MDT and autonomouslyPlease refer to the job description for further details on dutiesWorking for our organisation

Main duties and responsibilitiesLead the nursing team and healthcare support workers within the clinic, ensuring the team receives support and developmentPerform appraisal and performance review enabling nursing team to strengthen their own practiceEnsure mandatory training is completed for reportsProvide clinical supervision for all nursing staff and HCSWsUtilise management supervision offered by the Service ManagerDevelop the nurses'' role and nursing contribution toward patient care pathways and service provisionDevelop the Health Care Support Worker roleReview work performance and progress of the nursing teamManage performance and sickness within the team with HRAct as role model, assessor and mentor for the nursing teamFacilitate development of policy, guidelines, care pathways and patient group directionsParticipate in retention and recruitment and implement organisational changeContribute to value for money, budget monitoring and signatory dutiesAttend meetings regarding service development as requiredChair team meetings and forumsHelp organise nurses'' education and trainingCollaborate with leads from other CNWL sites to share ideas and improve ways of workingContribute to the business plan and identify resource optimizationReport incidents as per Trust guidelines and lead investigations with learning for the wider teamPrepare evidence and feedback for Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs)Support changes to improve service delivery with staff through the process of changeHelp develop the role of apprentices within the Sexual Health setting as necessaryEnsure stock and resources are available and maintainedPerson specification

RGN (Full registration with UK NMC Sub-part 1 Adult)BASHH certificate or equivalent in Sexual Health trainingDFRSH Diploma in Contraception or equivalent UK trainingFSRH LOC IUD or equivalent qualification or willingness to trainManagement qualification or evidence of training in management/leadership (e.g., LEO)The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users.
