Head of Business Banking

Overview
We''re now recruiting for Head of Business Banking who will bring to life the value stream for the Group''s Business Banking business with full accountability for the product range for our Business customers. The role will be responsible for the PandL, Balance sheet, propositions, journeys and strategy. It will put our members and customer''s first, bringing significant experience in Business Banking and understanding the regulatory and commercial context to achieve growth and success.Responsibilities
Propositions:
Design a proposition and appropriate transition states, to ensure we have an offering balancing growth demands, product economics, risk and regulatory requirements and the brand/group purpose and positioning. Understand the segments we want to target, the jobs to be done and the economic impact of decisions, and use internal and external data and research (customer, market, journey) to understand customer needs, regulation and market trends.Commercial Management:
Create and run a commercial plan - setting appropriate targets across all Business Banking product lines, delivering key financial metrics such as market share, Asset and Liability balances, etc. Report on performance and levers (product, customer, balances, etc), produce pricing and trading papers as well as product economics - unit economics, cost models, income, cross product holding, channel economics, capital usage, etc.Risk:
Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and any changes, while focusing on how we manage and mitigate changes as part of the broader plan. Ensure we are running a book with a strong focus on financial and non-financial risks and embed risk ownership into the team, whilst working closely with credit risk on models for lending (overdrafts), capital usage and pricing models.Transformation:
Work with the horizontal origination and servicing teams to ensure a prioritised approach to journey development and improvement. Look at migration and integration - work with broader teams on Core Banking platform development and migration to ensure a fit with product requirements, commercial plans and the Business Banking change roadmap.Benefits

Proven financial services leadership experience in a senior-level Business Banking roleExperience of commercial bank lending including loans, current accounts and credit cardsDemonstrable expertise in commercial management - working with journey leads, finance and marketing to create growth plansExperience of developing and delivering strategy and associated business plansExpert knowledge of the regulatory requirements and rules that govern business activitiesStrong analytical, organisational, and communication skills, capable of translating complex challenges into actionable insightsExceptional leadership and interpersonal abilities, with a track record of fostering cross-functional collaboration and influencingExperience of operating in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment with multiple high-priority demandsAdept at managing relationships, securing stakeholder buy-in, and driving alignment across diverse teamsDesirable: Leadership experience in a product, finance or strategy roleDesirable: Evidence of leading through an integrationDesirable: Skilled at navigating shifting priorities and evolving market conditions in a dual organisational settingLocation and more
This role can operate from either our Head Office campus in Binley, Coventry or our Manchester office, but as a Group role, travel to both locations will be required.
