As we approach the new academic year, we are expanding our team of SEN Tutors in Winchester. We are looking for caring, passionate, and committed educators to support young people who benefit from learning outside of mainstream settings.
You will work with learners on a 1:1 basis, delivering tailored educational support in core subjects and helping to foster social and emotional development. Full time and part time roles are available.

As a SEN Tutor, you will:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging sessions that meet the needs of students.
• Typically be delivering Maths, English and Science sessions.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
• Record student progress and report on this weekly.
• Be understanding, empathetic and patient.
• Record attendance.
• Be organised, dependable and creative.
• Be calm, fair and adaptable.

About you:

• • Experience working with young people in UK schools
  • Background in SEN education or alternative provision- desirable but not essential
  • Confident delivering Maths and English
  • Empathetic, reliable, and calm under pressure
  • Able to build trusting relationships and foster a love of learning
  • Experience of working with young people with SEMH needs

Hours - 15 Hours per week- for the right candidate, this can be increased to full time.

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

• Hold right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide references upon request
• Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
