Overview

Benjamin UK is looking for Therapeutic Care Practitioners (Children/young people 12-18yrs EBD) to work as part of a team. Along with great pay we offer company pension, an excellent training package and flexible working patterns. The salary is

£32,554 to £33,089

per annum, with increments on gaining the relevant qualification (NVQ). A degree in psychology or criminology or working with children with EBD are preferred. The Therapeutic Residential Children\''s Support Workers will be responsible for providing a stable, therapeutic environment and supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.Benjamin UK was founded 20 years ago, driven by a passion to protect the rights of society\''s most vulnerable children. The company has developed into a trusted organisation delivering services in 5 counties with nationwide referrals and provides 24 hour wrap around and fully integrated therapeutic care.We are offering a £500 starting bonus to successful applicants who are qualified with an NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare .The role includes 24.5 hour shifts (10am - 10:30am the following day) and an onsite sleep-in from 11pm to 7am.

Responsibilities

Supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties and those experiencing mental health problems.Promoting a stimulating, caring and culturally appropriate environment for the young people.Providing practical and emotional support under the guidance of the management team.Working closely with young people, their families and professionals according to programmes and plans that have been implemented.Assisting individuals to live a full and meaningful life that develops their potential and promotes their rights.

Qualifications and Requirements

Hold a full UK driving licence for a manual vehicle.Have a Diploma/NVQ3 in Caring for Children and Young People or commitment to work towards this qualification.Possess excellent communication, organisational skills and resilience.Ability to develop and promote positive working relationships with service users, their family and professional colleagues.Desire to succeed.Degree in psychology, criminology, mental health, nursing or similar (ideally) but not essential.

Additional Information

This role is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure from the DBS and references. Social media checks will be carried out for successful candidates.Hours of work are 24.5 hour shifts, including weekends and bank holidays. Five shifts completed every 2 weeks.Application questions include: degree relevance, ability to complete full-time pattern including sleep-in, and sponsorship needs.
