Mechanical Project Engineer

who will contribute as a key member of our Building Services Team. This is a hybrid role, primarily based in Dublin or Cork, with offices also available in Galway, Kilkenny, and Sligo.Our Building Services Team includes enthusiastic and experienced engineers from Graduate to Director level, working closely with clients, architects, and engineers to deliver projects across various sectors. Current projects include healthcare buildings for the HSE, schools, universities, laboratories, pharmaceutical facilities, and port infrastructure. We are committed to professional development and support our employees in gaining Chartered Engineer status. You will work within a team focused on sustainability and low-carbon initiatives, reducing energy demand, and utilizing renewable energy sources.About the role:You will be based in Cork or Dublin and work under a senior engineer on all project phases, from concept to handover. Responsibilities include feasibility studies, design using calculation spreadsheets, IES thermal modelling, AutoCAD, and Revit. Site visits during construction to monitor progress and quality are also required. You will collaborate with team members, architects, structural engineers, and attend client meetings, representing RPS values.Qualifications:Industry-related Level 8 Degree in Mechanical, Building Services, or Energy EngineeringMembership of a professional body such as Engineers Ireland or CIBSE (advantageous)Minimum 3 years’ experience in a consultancy practiceExperience in various sectors including Commercial, Industrial, Pharmaceutical, Educational, Healthcare, Hospitality, Residential, Data CentresProven track record in mechanical building services design and coordinationKnowledge of low-carbon design principles, nZEB, Part L complianceEstablished relationships with public and private clientsExperience working in multi-disciplinary teamsExperience with BIM and RevitKey Skills and ResponsibilitiesCore building services design including HVAC, controls, utilities, drainageFeasibility studies, scheme and detailed design, specifications, cost estimates, tendering, construction, and commissioningEngagement with clients, design teams, and contractorsApplying BIM Level 2 standards and coordinating modelsTeam collaboration from inception to completionThermal modelling and calculation software expertiseBusiness development supportPersonal AttributesExcellent communication and organizational skillsAbility to build effective relationshipsSelf-motivated and career-orientedCommitted to continuous learning and developmentWhy RPS for you?Join us to work on innovative projects, with diverse perspectives and ideas.
