Bid Writer – Civil Engineering

8We’re working with a well-established main contractor to recruit a Bid Writer for their growing Staines office.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established business delivering major projects across civil engineering, infrastructure, and the built environment. You’ll play a key role in producing high-quality, compelling bids that help secure large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Writing, editing and coordinating high-quality tender submissions (PQQs, ITTs, RFPs)
• Working closely with estimating, commercial and operational teams
• Managing bid timelines and ensuring all submissions are completed to deadline
• Tailoring content to meet client requirements and scoring criteria
• Reviewing and improving existing bid library content
• Supporting continuous improvement of bid processes and win strategies

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience as a Bid Writer / Bid Coordinator / Proposals Writer
• ESSENTIAL: Background in civil engineering or infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of main contractor environments
• Experience working on frameworks, public sector tenders, and large-scale bids
• Excellent written communication and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
